WHY WE DO IT:
In the 1980s Dan Juster, a leader in the burgeoning Messianic movement, was
challenged by a friend regarding the restoration of the Church by five fold
leadership (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers). He began
to gain a vision for the restored unity of the Body of Believers, and the
foundations for restoration began to grow.
Because of the distinctiveness of the Messianic Jewish calling within the
founding congregation, the need to develop a close-knit association of
communities with shared values became a pressing motivation to create a new
network rather than to join an existing one. Tikkun participates in the
establishment of new Messianic congregations and cooperates with other
restoration networks which pursue the unity of the Church, incorporating a
deeper awareness of the Jewish roots of the faith.
