Getting Healthy Emotionally - Part One

During our first targeted prayer session together at Shoresh David (MunroeVille, PA) I emphasized focusing on emotional healing during our time together. Our session was divided equally between inward and outward focuses. Emotional healing, I believe, is the really good stuff that God wants for us. If a school of ships are moving together and one has internal engine problems it cannot help colliding with the other ships.

We talk much of outreach and impacting the Jewish community, but not much of our inward readiness to absorb such a revival if it does come. Perhaps G-d is biding His time until we are a bit healthier? Emotional Quotient (EQ) is talked of much today and is defined as a measurement of a person's ability to monitor his or her emotions, to cope with pressures and demands, and to control his or her thoughts and actions.

Our emotional quotient effects our ability to evaluate and effect situations and relationships with others - in short, our emotional immaturity prevents us from entering into and maintaining high trust (healthy) friendships.

Some of the experts have suggested that most of the emotional problems among believers stem from two things: the failure to understand, receive, and live out God's unconditional grace and forgiveness and the failure to give out that unconditional grace and forgiveness to others.

Tomorrow I will be exploring this a little further, so do come back and read the rest ...
