The Psalm for Tuesday

The Psalm of the day on Tuesday is Psalm 82.

During creation week, on Tuesday, the 3rd day, God formed dry land. God furthered His purposes to create a place for the people He would not create until the 6th day to praise Him and give Him glory, by establishing land. The rabbis have tied this to God's judgment mentioned in verse 1.The 5th verse makes their point, saying, "2 'How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah.'" This sets up the end of verse 5, "All of earth's foundations are shaken." Then finally, God, Himself, is invited to be the Judge Who is judgment is final. "8 Arise, O God, judge the earth!" Bottom line, without God's righteous judgment, the foundations of the earth would be shaken.

We should give thanks every day that God's judgment is merciful. This is spoken of over 400 times in the Bible. God righteously judged that mankind had fallen short of His righteous standard. Therefore; He sent His Son.

Romans 8:3-4 "For what was impossible for the Torah - since it was weakened on account of the flesh - God has done. Sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as a sin offering, He condemned sin in the flesh - so that the requirement of the Torah might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Ruach."

And we say, "Thank You, Lord!"
