Patience

What really impressed me about the story of Genesis 24 is Eliezer's patience. After his prayer was answered (rather dramatically and speedily) he waited. Genesis 22:21

"while the man (Eliezer) continued to pay close attention to her (Rebekah), keeping silent in order to know whether or not Adonai had made his way successful."

We find this same quality of patience after Peter had his famous vision of the sheet coming down from heaven. Acts 10:17 "Now while Peter was puzzling about what the

vision he had seen might mean, behold, the men sent by Cornelius found Simon's house and appeared before the gate."

It seems so obvious to us, but Peter was still thinking about what it might mean when there was a knock at the door. God provided the answer. Here's the point. God answers prayer AND He is able to confirm His answer. We should ask, "Is this really You, Lord?"

Here is the Scripture, 2 Corinthians 13:1b "By the testimony of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." Paul is quoting a principle stated in Deuteronomy 19:15 and in other places.

The Scriptures seem to place a premium on patience. Repeatedly, we are admonished to be patient. If you don't believe me, "Google" it. (If it's on the internet, it must be true!!) Here is the word for today, "Don't be hasty."
