The Upper Room Discourse 19

John 14:22 Judah (not the one from Kriot) said to Him, "Master, what has happened, that You are about to reveal Yourself to us and not the world?"

John 14 is packed with meaning that is crying out for our attention and appreciation. It's a simple, yet profound, question. Paraphrasing: What happened that You will be revealed to us and not to everyone else?

Yeshua answered His disciples ... Matthew 13:11 And He replied to them, "To you has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has +not been given. We are living in a day or season when we need to seek, knock and ask. Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it shall be opened. Yeshua also promised to come in when we open the door. Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

Think of all the reality TV makeover programs. Every one of them has the "great reveal" when old things pass away and all things become new. Yeshua has a great reveal planned too. This will not be an upsetting surprise, but a time of rejoicing, to those who know Him and love Him. But to those who have rejected His invitation, He promises something quite different. Luke 13:28 There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.

Open up to Yeshua while it is today. Tomorrow may be too late. Two scriptures for this. First, regarding today ... Psalm 95:7 For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, the flock of His hand. Today, if you hear His voice. Second, regarding tomorrow ... Jacob 4:14 Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

And the last verse today is at the end of the same chapter. Jacob 4:17 Therefore whoever knows the right thing to do and does not do it - for him it is sin. Shema Yisrael (Hear O Israel), the greatest Jew Who ever lived is knocking. Answer the door, open your heart so that the King of Glory may come in (read Psalm 24).
