Romans part 195 - Life in the Body 20

Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

It all goes back to "the force and the field." Is the force of this world going to play their unrighteous "game" on our field, or is the body of Messiah going to be a force in the world and introduce His righteous way of life on the "field" of the world? This is the story of Moses, Aaron and Hur.

Exodus 17:11-13 When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed. But when he let down his hand, the Amalekites prevailed. Moses' hands grew heavy, so they took a stone, put it under him, and he sat down. Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on each side. So his hands were steady until the sun went down. So Joshua overpowered the Amalekites and his army with the edge of the sword.

Some of us are Aaron and some of us are Hur. I'm not sure who is in the place of Moses, maybe Yeshua. Our prayers are "holding up" Moses hands (figuratively speaking). Our prayers are effective tools in overcoming evil with good. Is this something new?

2 Timothy 3:12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Messiah Yeshua will be persecuted.

God will not be mocked. The difference between good and evil is as drastic as the difference between light and dark. 3 John 11 Loved ones, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God. That whole "50 shades of grey" thing is not of God.

The calling on the life of a believer is to be an overcomer of evil, not to be overcome by evil. 1 John 5:4-5 For everyone born of God overcomes the world. And the victory that has overcome the world is this - our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world, if not the one who believes that Yeshua is Ben-Elohim?

So, what fruit will you eat? Will you eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that leads to eternity in hell (apart from God), or from the tree of life that leads to eternity in the presence of God? Choose wisely, my friends. Shalom shalom.
