The Feast of Sukkot

The Feast of Sukkot is the greatest celebration of the Jewish biblical year. It celebrates the autumnal harvest feast in ancient Israel and several historical elements are important.

Sukkot recalls the time that Israel dwelled in the desert and took shlter in tents. When Israel owned little, God supplied manna, quail and clothing that did not wear out.

Building a sukkah is not only important from a ritual point of view - it is a great family bonding exercise and the children will talk about this for the rest of their lives as they build them wih their children. Don't forget the lulav and etrog and trying to have at least the first and last days of the feast off work!

You can purchase the book here.
