The newsletter sent out earlier this week is mainly about whqt happened this Shabbat. I take you through the day, which in the whole, was a normal, Spirit-filled Saturday ... At just the right moment, the Torah was removed from the Ark and the children of Israel honored that which been given to them so long ago. Different members, both older and younger, shared in the privilege of reading God's word from the Torah scroll in the original Hebrew. Then, suddenly the Shabbat peace was interrupted by the alarms as a rocket attacked was launched from the Gaza Strip. Israel responded quickly and as we slept, young Israeli soldiers boarded their aircraft and carried out a retaliatory attack. This morning the headlines were filled with stories of this most recent escalation of violence against Israel. I end with some prayer requests, for we earnestly desire you to stand with us in prayer.
