In a sense, the Christian Church has its own halakic tradition, and we need to recognize its particular involvement in seeking to apply Old and New Testament scriptural truth. Our approach should also take into account Christian tradition, recognizing its strengths as well as its departures from a more biblical approach to the issues involved. A comparison of Jewish and Christian interpretations and applications can, therefore, be most instructive. Our goal, however, should always be to discern in the Spirit. Our minds should be subsmissive to the Word of God, humbly seeking God's - without pride or narrow dogmatism. If we love Israel, our involvement will show respect as well as disagreement.
