This may seem a simple instruction at first glance, but it raises the question: are we always to die to self, even when it endangers us? Several of the Scriptures cited above speak of "loving ourselves", so "dying to self- interest" cannot be an absolute, and we therefore need the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to determine when and how much each is needed. Do read the quoted Scriptures and see what the Ruach speaks to you about on this subject. Mitzvah H8
