Isaiah 53

Today my attention was drawn to one verse of Scripture. We all know (or should know) Isaiah Chapter 53. It may contain the best description of Yeshua as Messiah found anywhere in the Bible. Keep reading. It gets better.

Isaiah 54:1 "'Sing, barren one, who has not given birth. burst into singing and shout, you who have not travailed. For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married one,' says Adonai."

There is a party prophesied here. This verse is declaring a celebration, but not as usual (after giving birth). This is another type of children (not through natural childbirth, but through spiritual childbirth. We are learning about spiritual offspring here. Yeshua taught this to a Pharisee named Nicodemus.

John 3:3 "Yeshua answered him, 'Amen, amen I tell you, unless one is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'"

Yeshua goes on to explain the truth (and value) of being born of the spirit. Everyone who lives and breathes has been through natural childbirth. Those who want to live with God long after these "earthen vessels" wear out, need a spiritual birth through faith in the Son of God.

Ever been asked, "What do you believe?" What was your answer? Was it long and confusing, or did you simply say, "I believe the Bible." The Bible tells us to be ready to answer this question.

1 Peter 3:15b "Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you."

And how much better to use God's words to give our answer. We all have a problem that we can't fix; because we are the problem. You can't fix a problem with more of a problem. God had to send His own Son to fix our problem.

Yeshua read the Haftarah in his hometown synagogue in Nazareth, he read from the scroll:

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The Ruach Adonai Elohim is on me, because Adonai has anointed me to proclaim Good News to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound, to proclaim the year of Adonai's favor and the day of our God's vengeance, to comfort all who mourn to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they might be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of Adonai, that He may be glorified."

Have a god day, y'all.
