The Word become flesh

The question of the day: Why do I love this one verse so much? John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. We looked upon His glory, the glory of the one and only from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Answer: Everything about it thrills me. "And the Word became flesh." God spoke and created everything. That same power of creation became a man. Right there is the solution to our problem. Yes, we had a problem.

Ephesians 2:12 "At that time you were separate from Messiah, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world."

While this is written to Gentiles, the Jewish people had the same problem. Through sin, even the commonwealth of Israel was estranged from their own covenants and promises. The prophets make that clear.

We all, both Jews and Gentiles, had the same problem, namely sin that separated us from relationship with God. It's a problem that animal sacrifices could never fix. No amount of prayer can ever fix it either. The only way to heal this breach was for God, Himself, to come in the form of a man and BE the atonement.

2 Corinthians 5:17-19 "Therefore if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Messiah and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. That is, in Messiah God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them; and He has entrusted the message of reconciliation to us."

This is huge! And enough for today.
