Implication of Nehemiah 8

Let's turn to Nehemiah 8. This is a great event with prophetic implications for the Children of Israel.

When is the scroll (Torah) being read? On the first day of the 7th month, Rosh Hashanah (aka Yom Teruah). This set up the people to celebrate the rest of the month. There is a detailed description of the Sukkot celebration that follows.

They even celebrated Shemini Atzeret (the 8th day celebration) before the L-rd. The "Sod" meaning of Hebrew Scriptures is the hidden or secret meaning. Let me take a moment to share the sod meaning of Shemini Atzeret. I believe Yeshua was born on the first day of Sukkot. Sukkot means "tabernacles."

John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. We looked upon His glory, the glory of the one and only from the Father, full of grace and truth."

That would make the 8th day (of a 7 day holiday) the day of Yeshua's circumcision. Now that's a reason to celebrate. Yeshua's circumcision on the 8th day was very important to us as believers in and followers of the spotless lamb of God. If Yeshua did not get his circumcision on the 8th day, then He, Himself, is not kosher. Thank God for Yeshua's circumcision on the 8th day.

Ezra read about it in Leviticus 23 and the people celebrated in Jeremiah 8.
