The challenge

My writing today is in the form of a challenge. The challenge is to prefer others more highly than yourself. This is in keeping with Scripture ... Philippians 2:3 "Do nothing out of selfishness or conceit, but with humility consider others as more important than yourselves".

You might be tempted to say, "What's the challenge? I can do that." The challenge is not to prefer others more highly than yourself. Anyone who is even slightly mature can do that. The challenge is "with humility." The minute you think you're getting good at preferring others, humility just flew out the window.

In fact, that's only part of the challenge. The rest is connected. We must prefer others without expecting to be rewarded. There are many levels to that last statement. So my prayer is, "Oh Lord, help each of us get to the next level. We want to grow Lord. B'Ezrat HaShem (With the help of God) we will grow into a people who give You the praise and glory due Your holy name. In Yeshua's matchless name. Amen."
