Before Passover begins later this week, pray and fast for deliverance from pestilence! At the dedication of Solomon's Temple, the Spirit of God said, "If My people will humble themselves and pray ..." People all over the world are praying for a breakthrough of God to end the worldwide pestilence. For such a time as this, can we cease feeding on media and social media that steals faith and joy with fear and panic, and focus our faith on Yeshua through prayer and fasting? In Jewish tradition, the day before Passover is the Fast of the Firstborn, for firstborn males to commemorate the fact that no Jewish firstborn males were killed when the Angel of Death visited the homes of the Egyptians. The day before Passover is also a day of Matzah, when there should be no leaven in houses about to observe the festival, a day of preparation, and the last day of the Lord before His suffering and death. Dr Daniel Juster told me he expects thousands of believers will join a video conference of intercession from Jerusalem on Tuesday. Ask the Holy Spirit whether and how He would have you fast and pray on that day, or even for three days Monday until Passover begins Wednesday evening. I would be interested in knowing if you will do so, though it's much more important that you let the Ruach Elohim (Spirit of God) know! I've put together a study to help focus reflection and prayer below: Read Psalm 91:5-6. Are you fearing "the plague that stalks in darkness, [or] the scourge that lays waste at noon"? Or will you "abide in the shadow of Shaddai"? Which will you do today? Through Passover week? As long as this pestilence endures? Read Hebrews 12:1-3. When we set aside the distractions of the world, where should our focus be? When our focus is where it should be, what happens to our fears and anxieties? Read Exodus 9:27-29. What did Pharaoh ask Moses to do? What was the result? Could that happen today? When people seek deliverance from God, what is God seeking from them? Read 2 Chronicles 7:12-14. Why might God send pestilence to the world? What does He want us to do in response? Are you doing that today? Read Numbers 16:41-50. Why is it dangerous to undermine the authority of duly appointed leaders? Why should we pray for those in authority, whether or not we necessarily agree with everything they say or do? What will you do today? Read Exodus 12:21-23. How can the blood of the Passover Lamb protect you from pestilence and death? Will you plead the blood of the Lamb over your households - your family, your congregation, your region, and your country, today and through Passover? Blessings in Messiah Yeshua, Glenn D. Blank
