It's All about Shabbat!

What is the chance that the Lord is being very intentional in presenting the 10 Commandments?

Rabbi Trail: Here is the link to the Hollywood version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1q_3PJW4akw. Cecil B. DeMille used real Paleo-Hebrew in carving the 10 Commandments with the finger of God. Here is another link if you would like to know more about Paleo-Hebrew: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleo-Hebrew_alphabet. End RT.

To answer the question, God is very intentional about, well ... everything. His attention to detail is amazing. Watch where we are in our walk through the 10 Commandments.

First Commandment - God introduces Himself.
Second Commandment - God demands exclusivity.
Third Commandment - God warns us to protect His reputation.
Fourth Commandment - God calls us to a weekly celebration of rest.

Books have been written about this fourth commandment. I will only scratch the scratch of the scratch of the surface of the depths of God's blessing to us through the gift of Shabbat.

Zachor Et-Yom HaShabat, L'Kadsho.

Shay'shet Yamim Ta'avod, V'A'Sita Kol-M'lach'techa.

V'Yom, Hash'vi'iĆ¢abat, La'Adonai(YHVH) Elohecha. Lo-Ta'aseh Kol-M'lacha Atak U'Vin'cha U'Vi'te'cha, Av'd'cha Va'a'mat'cha U'V'Hem'techa, V'Gar'cha, Asher Bish'a'recha.

Ki Shashet-Yamim Asah Adonai(YHVH) Et-HaShamayim V'Et-HaAretz, Et-HaYam V'Et-Kol-Asher-Bam, VaYanach, BaYom HaSh'vi'i; Al-Ken, Bayrach Adonai(YHVH) Et-Yom HaShabbat - Va'Y'qad'shayhu.

Exodus 20:8-11 Remember Yom Shabbat, to keep it holy. You are to work six days, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Shabbat to Adonai your God. In it you shall not do any work - not you, nor your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, your cattle, nor the outsider that is within your gates. For in six days Adonai made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Thus Adonai blessed Yom Shabbat, and made it holy.

When we rest from our labors on Shabbat, we are living by faith that He will provide more in six days than we can in seven. Yeshua didn't come to eliminate the Sabbath, He came to establish it. The Sabbath is mentioned 60 times in the New Testament and twice that many times in the Hebrew Scriptures.

Hebrews 4:9-11 So there remains a Shabbat rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered God's rest has also ceased from his own work, just as God did from His. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall through the same pattern of disobedience.

The Sabbath transcends creation. On Shabbat we celebrate the first rest, the rest from creation, but we also celebrate the final rest, the promise of the Millennial Reign. This is the promised 1,000 year day of rest at the end of this age. The "Resurrection" of the millennial reign is not by works, nor is it for works, but by grace and for rest. Revelation 20:6 How fortunate and holy is the one who has a share in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no authority, but they shall be kohanim of God and the Messiah, and they shall reign with Him for a thousand years. Want more good news? This 1,000 year day of rest is on God's calendar every week symbolically as Shabbat. The commandment is not to ignore it, but to enjoy it.
