How does it happen?

"Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:43-47

In the few lines above we are given an example of how the First Century Believers came together living as one. Today we are separated by many things one of which is geographical distances; making it a challenge if not impossible to live that way.

Today, our buildings or gathering places; churches, congregations and home groups must take the place of coming together as one. They are where we meet to worship, pray and fellowship. This is where we must go to grow together in unity and in God's time in numbers.

It is important for us to realize that God wants to use us; but how is this supposed to happen?

Continuing daily with one accord is to be of one heart, even when we don't agree, unity through the Word of God

Breaking bread from house to house would be the taking together of the bread and wine (communion).

Eating their food with gladness. What was this gladness that they were filled with? Seeing the Will of God fulfilled in the lives of others. Fellowship and discipleship.

Praising God. This is the overflow of living a lifestyle of prayer and worship.

There is power in unity and He will add to His Kehillah (congregation) as there is an awakening in Israel and the world and salvation comes to all nations. The purpose in all we do is to be in one heart and to build the Kingdom of God.

Put simply, the congregation is a group of people who are saved by His Grace, dedicated to the work of God, obeying His Word and Will.
