Fresh revelation on Purim

After we began our Purim celebration last Wednesday night by listening to this song concerning Esther's courage, I was overwhelmed with the presence of the Holy Spirit and a sense of urgency. (In Hebrew we say "Chashuv," which means important and urgent (there is a difference - important things are important to us personally, while urgent things are usually urgent to others, but we have to handle them.)

We need the courage of Esther. This only comes through fasting and prayer. Even now, as I meditate on the words of this song, the phrase "born for this" makes me long for the fulfillment of the Kingdom of God. B'Ezrat HaShem (with the help of God) may we all fulfill our destiny in Messiah Yeshua.

Bowling Tonight

Bowling this Wednesday evening - that's tonight! The Powell Chavurah group plans a social event once a quarter (on the 5th Wednesday). This Wednesday is the 5th Wednesday of March. You do not have to be an active member of the Powell Chavurah to participate. Please call Keith Henschen for details.

New Members Class

New member class (first of 4 consecutive weeks) began this last Shabbat, 30 minutes after the end of the service. Anyone interested in becoming a member of Shomair Yisrael MJC may attend the class without making a commitment for membership until the 4 classes are completed.
