Messiah's Supper

In addition, one of the most important things that a Messianic Jewish congregation can do to assure the centrality of God's work through Yeshua in our testimony and worship is to have a regular quality celebration of the Messiah's Supper. The central text in First Corinthians 11 states that in celebrating we show the Lord's death until He comes. I believe, in the light of the words of Colossians 2:15, that we are showing His death to the princes of darkness and, once again, nullifying their power over us. In addition, first century Jews would not practice ritual only for its teaching value, but would believe that they really received life and affected the world by so doing. This means that we really receive blood shed for us. Generally, the celebration is is the celebration of the Body under elders, though a case can be made for family celebration, especially at Passover ... Time for confession and worship preparation are very important. The Hebrew blessings over the bread and wine in a Messianic Jewish context precede tge declaration over the elements that they now convey to us the meaning of His bodyngiven for us and His blood shed for us.
