Unity

unity - is not ecumenicity! It is not reducing everything to the lowest common denominator and only talking about things that we all agree are 'safe'. It is about engaging our differences and working through our issues recognising that we have been made one, one family, in Messiah. Yeshua urged us to "be one, just as I and the Father are One" (John 17:21). This stems from the Sh'ma, our declaration of faith in the One G-d who made heaven and earth.

Rav Sha'ul wrote that "There is one body and one Spirit, just you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one G-d and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." There is no hint of identity collapse here - each believer remains distinct yet part of the One who has called us. This is why we must work for unity!
