The name of Yeshua

I would like you to read Psalm 98. It is part of the Friday night liturgy and on Shabbat morning it was part of the Torah Recessional in the synagogue where I grew up.

What is your translation of the first verse? The TLV reads:

Psalm 98:1 "A psalm. Sing to Adonai a new song, for He has done marvelous things. His right hand and His holy arm have won victory for Him."

Just this first verse of the Psalm provides a great testimony to God. Why do we sing a new song? It is because we will (experience) wonders. The Hebrew word Nifla'ot is captivating. It is the same root (shoresh) used in Isaiah 9, He shall be called Pele or "wonderful".

It is a name for Yeshua, which shoresh is also found immediately following the etnachta (a cantorial mark indicating a rest, similar to a comma grammar mark. It may be translated "victory for Him", but the Hebrew indicates His salvation is His right hand and holy arm. Do you suppose Isaiah knew this when he wrote the 53rd chapter?
