I shall not want

Question of the day: What does it mean at the end of Psalm 23:1b "I shall not want."

Answer: The Hebrew word means "decrease". But the verse says "I shall not decrease". What is the opposite of decrease? Yes, you are correct! It means "increase". Take out the double negative and it reads, "I shall increase". Why shall I increase? Because the Lord is my Shepherd. He directs me to places where I will increase, and I shall not have a lack of any good thing.

Psalm 34:10-11 "Fear Adonai, His kedoshim, For those who fear Him lack nothing. Young lions may lack, and go hungry, but those who seek Adonai want for no good thing."
