Getting into trouble?

Question of the day: What part of your body can get you in to a lot of trouble in a hurry?

Answer: The Bible speaks of the tongue as a small body part that has abundant power for both good and evil.

Jacob 3:5-6 "So also the tongue is a small member - yet it boasts of great things. See how so small a fire sets a blaze so great a forest! And the tongue is a fire. The tongue is a world of evil placed among our body parts. It pollutes the whole body and sets on fire the course of life—and is set on fire by Gehenna."

The easiest way to get into trouble is to say something. Words have power. God's spoke the world into existence. Of course, God is so powerful He didn't have to speak to bring man to life, He only had to breathe.

Genesis 2:7 "Then Adonai Elohim formed the man out of the dust from the ground and He breathed into his nostrils a breath of life - so the man became a living being."

In this season of repentance, let's purpose to avoid speaking ourselves into trouble. There it is ... my first new years resolution.
