Integration of Torah

Carl Kinbar explores the theme of narratives and calling:

Since the Torah and these practices are given specifically to Israel, the integration of Torah into the narrative ensures the ongoing identity of Israel and guards against the idea that it has been replaced in any way by the church. (Chapter 4, page 65)

Do you agree with this? Are you comfortable that the Torah was not only given to our people at Sinai has an ongoing role in our lives today? Do you think this point is crucial in arguing for the continuation of Israel in G-d's plans?
