G-d's continual presence

"Outside the curtain of the testimony in the tent of meeting, Aharon is to arrange for the light to be kept burning always from evening until morning before ADONAI; this is to be a permanent regulation through all your generations. " (Leviticus 24:3, CJB)

Just as some have compared the continual fire on the altar to our continuing prayers before the L-rd, so too has the continual light been compared to G-d's presence always being there. We don't have tabernacle or temple any more, but we do have the Ruach HaKodesh.

Do you feel G-d's presence with you always? Do you believe that He is always with us in our daily lives? Or does He feel a little remote?

Maybe being aware of G-d is something we need to cultivate. Sometimes something can become so routine that we hardly notice it anymore! This Shabbat, let's ask G-d how He would have us be more deliberate in thinking about Him during the day and being aware of His presence.

"Because as many of you as were immersed into the Messiah have clothed yourselves with the Messiah ..." (Galatians 3:27, CJB)
