Holiness

This week we have a double parasha, dealing with Yom Kippur and the "holiness code" of what acts are forbidden to us, such as sexual immorality. Living an upright life free of immorality is still applicable to us today! You can see the daily Parasha and Bible reading plan for this week and here is the drash for Acharei Mot/Kedoshim.

Please pray for the network this week ...

Brit Hadasha have Hebrew Class on Tuesday evening and Adat Chaim have a Congregational Day of Prayer and Fasting on Wednesday, closing with a prayer meeting in the evening. On Thursday El Shaddai have Women's Bible Study in the morning and Beit Simcha have Rabbi Glenn's Bible Study in the evening, while Adat Chaim are participating in Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. On Friday evening El Shaddai have the Toldot monthly Erev Shabbat Dinner and Shomair Yisrael have Beginner Worship Practice after the Shabbat morning service.

The Bible verse for this week is ...

"Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law." (Romans 3:27-28, NASB)

We can all fall into this trap, of thinking that our good works or personal goodness can justify us. This week, let us remember where our salvation has come from and reach out in faith.
