From curses to blessings

This week we read about Balak who tried to curse our people and Balam who was used by G-d to turn this curse into a blessing. And what a blessing - some of it is recited in the Shacharit service every morning because it is so important! You can see the daily Parasha and Bible reading plan for this week and here is the drash for Balak.

On Tuesday evening Tikvat Israel have their Torah Study on the Book of Acts and on Wednesday evening Adat Chaim have Yound Adults Discipleship. This Thursday ElShaddai have their monthly Women's Bible Study and in the evening Beit Simcha have Rabbi Glenn's Bible Study. On Friday evening El Shaddai have the Toldot monthly Erev Shabbat Dinner and on Shabbat Shomair Yisrael are celebrating Jada Baker's Bat Mitzvah - mazel tov!

The Bible verse for this week is ...

"And if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men ... then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment" (2 Peter 2:7,9, NASB)

Let us not be one of the unrighteousness under punishment but one of the godly - let us cry out to the L-rd to be rescued from temptation this week!
