Romans part 13 - What Can Be Known About God? Part 2

Romans 1:18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men. In unrighteousness they suppress the truth, because what can be known about God is plain to them - for God has shown it to them. His invisible attributes - His eternal power and His divine nature - have been clearly seen ever since the creation of the world, being understood through the things that have been made. So people are without excuse -

Last time, we ended by promising more answers to the question, "What can be known about God?" Romans 1:18-20 seems to speak in riddles. God's invisible attributes are plainly seen and what can be known about God is plain because God has showed it. David wrote about this in Psalm 19.

Psalm 19:2-7 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky shows His handiwork. Day to day they speak, night to night they reveal knowledge. There is no speech, no words, where their voice goes unheard. Their voice has gone out to all the earth and their words to the end of the world. In the heavens He pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his bridal chamber. It is like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other end. Nothing is hidden from its heat.

Everyone is capable of looking at the world and knowing there has to be a creator. Can disorder produce order? Can a tornado create a jumbo jet? Picture this ... you're on a hike and come to a clearing in the woods. There is a cabin positioned in the corner of the meadow. You look through the window and see the fireplace is lit and the smell of bread is coming from the oven. Would you suppose there is probably no owner or master of the house? Of course not! We easily see the owner of this house has given attention to every detail. Surely, God is supreme in His creation. And more good news, He is coming again.

Revelation 1:7 Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye shall see Him, even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth shall mourn because of Him. Yes, amen!

Matthew 24:27 For just as lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so also will be the coming of the Son of Man. (Read the rest of Matthew 24)

Revelation 22:20-21 The One giving testimony to these things says, "Yes! I am coming soon!" Amen! Come, Lord Yeshua! May the grace of the Lord Yeshua be with all!
