Romans part 53 - Set Right By His Blood

Romans 5:9 How much more then, having now been set right by His blood, shall we be saved from God's wrath through Him.

In our subject verse, "shall we" is a question. We can reverse the word order and change the sentence from a question into a statement. "'We shall' be saved from God's wrath through Him." A proper understanding of the entire Bible (from Genesis through Revelation) depends on this. Yeshua will save us from God's wrath.

There are too many people willing to risk their future on the hope that the day of God's wrath will never come. Yeshua clearly stated ... Matthew 24:37a For just as the days of Noah were, [38a] For in those days before the flood, they [39b] did not understand until the flood came and swept them all away. So shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Earlier in our subject verse, we are told that we are "set right by His blood." Let's go deep into that. Think about the Passover holiday. Passover begins with a worship service, called a seder, which is celebrated around the dinner table. The word seder means order, but a variation of it can mean "set in order." We are set in order by the blood of Yeshua.

1 Corinthians 5:7-8 Get rid of the old hametz, so you may be a new batch, just as you are unleavened - for Messiah, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us celebrate the feast not with old hametz, the hametz of malice and wickedness, but with unleavened bread - the matzah of sincerity and truth.

Hametz is leavening. It is symbolic of pride (being puffed up). When we come into right relationship with God, by faith in Yeshua, God begins a work in us, to set us right (in right order), by ordering every area of our lives according to His will. It is a work of God that will never end. The pride of malice and wickedness is contrasted with the humility of sincerity and truth.

May the Lord's will be done in your life. Philippians 2:12b ... work out your salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For the One working in you is God - both to will and to work for His good pleasure. Shalom shalom.
