Romans part 67 - Victory Over Sin 6

Romans 6:9-10 We know that Messiah, having been raised from the dead, no longer dies; death no longer is master over Him. For the death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God.

Victory over the grave! What just happened? Yeshua "... die to sin once for all ..." This magnificent act of love required perfect obedience and humility as recorded ... Luke 22:41-43 And He pulled back about a stone's throw from them, got on His knees, and began to pray, saying, "Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done." Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him and strengthened Him.

When Yeshua submitted His will to the will of the Father, He became strengthened to conquer death. John 10:17-18 For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, so that I may take it up again. No one takes it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.

Yeshua died, so we could live for Him. 2 Corinthians 5:15 And He died for all so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for the One who died for them and was raised. This is something new, and wondrous to behold. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

This is all a great blessing. It is summarized in the last verse of the chapter ... 2 Corinthians 5:21 He made the One who knew no sin to become a sin offering on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. Did you catch that? We give His sacrifice meaning when we obey God by grace. This is the evidence of our salvation. Shalom shalom.
