Romans part 90 - Victory Over Sin 29
|
Romans 8:5-6 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Ruach set their minds on the things of the Ruach. For the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Ruach is life and shalom. Yes, these are the same verses as last time. This is not a typo, there is more to say about them. I want to focus on verse 6. The flesh will die, and it is consumed with that destiny. The Spirit (Ruach) will live forever, and it is consumed with the destiny of eternal life of shalom. Shalom is so banal. We use it in Hebrew for both "hello" and "good-bye." Yet, in reality, it is the fulfillment of every blessing. Only God can give us Shalom. It speaks of God's complete provision. Only He can make us whole. Only He is perfect and can make us perfect. Only He fills us up to overflowing. Psalm 34:9-11 Taste and see how good Adonai is. Blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. Fear Adonai, His kedoshim, For those who fear Him lack nothing. Young lions may lack, and go hungry, but those who seek Adonai want for no good thing. So, let us "live according to the Ruach." When we do, our minds will be fixed on "life and shalom." And speaking of Shalom, shalom shalom.
