Romans part 190 - Life in the Body 15

Romans 12:16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be proud, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own eyes.

Live in harmony, be humble and try not to acts like I'm a know-it-all. Sounds easy enough, but it must not be. Otherwise, why would it take a lifetime to perfect these character traits? Paul isn't the only one to admonish the family of God in this way. Peter also shared these same thoughts.

1 Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, tenderhearted, humble-minded.

He knew He was living and breathing His last night on earth, yet His thoughts and prayers were fixed on our unity. Unity can be very powerful. It's why I love marching bands. Everyone is working together to produce a unified end result. The Torah speaks on unity as well: Genesis 11:6 Adonai said, "Look, the people are one and all of them have the same language. So this is what they have begun to do. Now, nothing they plan to do will be impossible."

God knew that when the people are one, "nothing they plan to do will be impossible." And the same is true of us today. As we love one another, in humility, we can do everything to build the kingdom of God. Who is more humble than Yeshua? Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Messiah who strengthens me.

Paul gives us this admonition at the start of Ephesians 4:1 Therefore I, ... urge you to walk ... [2] with complete humility and gentleness, with patience, putting up (I like "persist" instead of "putting up") with one another in love, [3] making every effort to keep the unity of the Ruach in the bond of shalom.
