Policy

This Privacy Statement explains how Tikkun America, Inc. collects, processes and handles information and personal data provided to us on or through websites and other digital services and products or services provided by Tikkun America with a link to this Privacy Statement.

This Privacy Statement does not apply to other sites that do not link to this Privacy Statement or to third-party websites to which the Tikkun America, Inc. sites may link.

What Information Does Tikkun America Collect?

We collect information through various mission-based programs, operational activities and financial transactions, including through communications, requests for or responses to prayer-related programs, newsletters, prayer letters, email, physical mail, sign-up forms, registrations, volunteer programs, purchases and payments, or through use of using any services or ministries provided by Tikkun America, Inc..

Basic contact information is collected as well as information that is specific to the type of form you may complete or the ministry, product or service you register for, purchase or support. Information collected is stored in our database. It generally contains individual contact information such as individual name, address, phone, email, website and the ministries, products and services associated with your account. In some instances, additional demographic information may be included on your personal account if you submit the information. And, if you purchase anything with a credit card or other financial account method, that information will or may be on the order.

When you visit our websites, we may collect cookies to aggregate information for analytics reporting. We also use cookies to help us remember, process, understand, and save your preferences for future visits and to compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better ministry-related programs and site experiences in the future. We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business.

How Do We Protect Collected Information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information and to protect it from loss or unauthorized access. Your account information is stored within our database behind security devices and controls.

Access to your information is limited to authorized staff and business partners providing the products and services you have requested or are entitled to and who serve Tikkun America in its online activities and data-collection and maintenance processes, such as Constant Contact or MailChimp. These third-party providers store collected data in cloud-based tools and have taken steps to store the information securely to avoid unauthorized use.

On-line transaction processing containing credit card information is transmitted using a secure third-party financial services provider. Payment information is encrypted and sent to our payment gateway provider. The data can only be accessed by authorized personnel.

We hold some financial details – such as dates, amounts and designations – for you if you make a donation or a purchase from Tikkun or one of its associated or partner ministries (list found on Tikkunamerica.org under Affiliated Ministries). We do not hold any account details – such as credit or debit cards, or bank accounts – as these transactions are processed for us by secure third-party financial services who provide a firewall between you and Tikkun America. We may maintain this data so that we can allocate the funds in the way that you have requested (and as approved and directed by appropriate Tikkun America authority).

We endeavor to send you email acknowledgement of any on-line donation within 24 hours and an annual summary that you may use for tax purposes or other personal needs. The data details are maintained in a third-party proprietary cloud-storage product called Aplos, a tool we use to document, manage, control and maximize donation activity and other funding.

Do We Disclose Information to Third Parties?

We share your information with Tikkun America business partners that help us provide the products and services you have requested or may be entitled, such as donations and others as described in this Statement and on our website.

We may share your information with our affiliated ministries and third-party service providers to provide services and information on our sites, including online marketing and advertising, and to support our mission-based operations. We request that each of these parties handle personal data in accordance with this Privacy Statement. We do not share personal data from countries that require consent, unless consent has been obtained in advance of sharing. We also may share your information with governing regulatory authorities or as may otherwise be necessary for us to comply with a legal obligation or demand.

When registering for a Tikkun America volunteer role or other program, your contact information may be provided to organizations or individuals who are assisting with those programs. In such cases registration and participation requires affirmative data sharing consent. Your information may also be provided to our third-party service providers who assist us in operating the event, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to or are legally obligated to protect the information from unauthorized use.

Your contact information may appear in a donor or supporter member directory maintained by Tikkun. This is a non-public directory available only to Tikkun America and its affiliated or member ministries with Tikkun America permission.

If you make a donation to one of the affiliated ministries in the Tikkun Family of ministries through Tikkun America, Inc., we may share your contact information with that ministry or other relevant affiliated ministry so that they may add you to their communications lists and keep you updated with their missions and programs. Each time you make a donation, you may be asked for permission to share your details in that way. On-line donations may not be made without affirmative data sharing consent. To make anonymous donations, you will need to call the office and ask to donate anonymously.

We may share your email address, first and last name with our chosen third-party bulk email provider (such as Constant Contact or MailChimp) in order to send you newsletters, prayer letters, other ministry updates or promotional material. This data is stored by them in cloud-based tools. All emails sent through our mailing lists are expected to include opt-out or sign-off instructions. If you receive a communication that does not contain an opt-out or sign-off instruction, please contact us at webmaster@tikkunministries.org.

We also use a third-party print-and-post service to print and send physical mail to you, and we provide this service provider with the name and address details on each occasion that we request a mailing on our behalf. The service provider is not permitted to use the information except for our official business. Mailings may not be personalized internally by Tikkun America except for the annual receipt.

We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.
