In Honor Of Resurrection Sunday

In Honor Of Resurrection Sunday Rabbi Michael Weiner

I’m writing this on Resurrection Sunday with two thoughts.

First, Yeshua was telling Martha about the planned resurrection of her brother, Lazarus. John 11:25 Yeshua said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life! Whoever believes in Me, even if he dies, shall live. Therefore; resurrection from death unto life (new life) IS the power of God. Our “born again” experience depends on it. 1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah! In His great mercy He caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Messiah Yeshua from the dead.

Secondly, Jewish people coming into relationship with the risen Messiah, the King of Israel, is so important in the Kingdom of God that even their rejection of Him caused a worldwide evangelistic explosion. Romans 11:11 I say then, they (Jewish people) did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their false step salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke Israel to jealousy. 12a Now if their transgression leads to riches for the world, and their loss riches for the Gentiles … But the verse doesn’t end there. There are six more words … Romans 11:12b then how much more their fullness! … 15 For if their rejection leads to the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

What is important to God should be important to us. Resurrection power is important to God and Jewish people being saved leads to resurrection power, so Jewish evangelism should be important to us. It is the path to resurrection power.
